A STRONGER AGRICULTURAL FUTURE: BODRUM MUNICIPALITY REVITALIZES SEEDLING PRODUCTION

Bodrum Municipality has resumed seedling production at the Bahçeyaka Seedling Production Greenhouseafter completing significant renovations aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability. Conducted by the Agricultural Services Directorate, the improvements were necessary due to groundwater rising during winter, which made disease control challenging and failed to meet seedling production standards.

To address these issues, the municipality enhanced the greenhouse floor and exterior structure, enabling better disease management and greater automation in production. With these upgrades, the Municipality seeks to increase production capacity and continue supporting local farmers by providing high-quality vegetable seedlings through seed sowing methods.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasized the municipality’s dedication to sustainable agriculture and local farmer support, stating:

“As the municipality, we aim to develop effective projects to provide farmers with education and resources while increasing agricultural diversity. Our primary goal is to utilize our city's agricultural potential in the most efficient way. Therefore, we are carrying out renovation efforts to strengthen agricultural production and ensure that our seeds transform into seedlings, supporting our producers.”
