Former Sponge Divers Visited on Cabotage Day
Public Relations Completed 02.07.2025
On the occasion of 1 July Cabotage Day, Bodrum Municipality visited former sponge divers across Turgutreis, Akyarlar, Yalıkavak, Kumbahçe, Çiftlik and Bodrum town centre. The visits were carried out by Coordination Centre teams under the Public Relations Office of the Directorate of Media and Public Relations.
During the visits, discussions focused on the historical conditions of sponge diving and its place in Bodrum’s cultural heritage, with shared experiences contributing to ongoing cultural documentation efforts.
