BODRUM'S LOCAL WHEAT FLOURISHES
A wheat harvest took place on agricultural land owned by the Bodrum Municipality.
In November 2023, the Municipality's Agricultural Services Directorate sowed Karakılçık wheat across 21 decares of agricultural fields in the Dereköy and Çömlekçi districts. Having reached full maturity, the wheat was harvested by municipal teams in recent days.
Officials from the Agricultural Services Directorate stated that this year’s harvest was productive compared to the district average, despite challenges such as low rainfall and damage from wild animals. They attributed the successful yield to the local variety of wheat used.
