AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED FOR DEGIRMENBURNU HISTORIC WINDMILLS AREA IDEA PROJECT COMPETITION

Projects prepared for the Değirmenburnu Historic Windmills and Surrounding Area Idea Project Competition will be presented to the public at Herodot Cultural Centre.
The competition was organised by Bodrum Municipality in cooperation with the Bodrum Branch of the Chamber of Architects to develop new ideas for Değirmenburnu, one of Bodrum’s symbolic historic areas.
The exhibition will open on Thursday, 30 July and remain open until 20 August. Visitors will be able to view the projects submitted for the future of the historic windmills area and its surroundings.
The award ceremony and colloquium will be held on Saturday, 1 August at 15.00 at Herodot Cultural Centre. The programme will introduce the award-winning projects and bring together jury members and participants to discuss the competition process and design approaches for the area.
A total of 78 projects were submitted. After preliminary checks, 76 were evaluated by the jury. Three equivalent awards, five equivalent honourable mentions and two equivalent purchase awards were granted.
Bodrum Municipality and the Bodrum Branch of the Chamber of Architects invited residents and members of the press to attend the exhibition and programme.
