With Eid al-Adha fast approaching, Bodrum Municipality has intensified its preparations to ensure a smooth and safe holiday experience for both residents and visitors. Municipal teams are working around the clock, putting in extra effort to uphold the spirit of unity and solidarity that defines this special occasion.
Throughout the four-day holiday, all municipal units, including Public Works, Parks and Recreational Areas, Sanitation, Municipal Police, Veterinary Services, Press & Public Relations and Cultural & Social Affairs, will remain fully operational across the peninsula.
Designated Livestock Markets
The Bodrum District Governorship's Qurban Services Commission has designated several official livestock markets for sacrificial animal sales: Bodrum Center: Motocross Area opposite Kızılağaç Camel Wrestling Arena, Turgutreis & Gümüşlük: In front of the former Tourism Training Hotel, Yalıkavak & Gündoğan: Bodrum Street near the old dump site and Mumcular Karaova: Jandarma Bayır Road
To ensure hygienic and humane conditions for animal sacrifice, six authorized qurban zones have been established under municipal supervision. These areas comply with animal welfare and environmental standards, and offer facilities to meet citizens’ needs. Moreover, the municipal teams will assist in collecting qurban hides on behalf of the Turkish Aeronautical Association.
Animal Sacrifices will only be allowed in designated areas. Unauthorized slaughters or environmental violations will be penalized by municipal police, in coordination with law enforcement. Offenses will be documented and referred to the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urban Planning under Environmental Law No. 2872.
24/7 Support Through Call Center
The municipality’s Call Center (Tel: 444 00 48) will operate 24/7 during the holiday as well, responding to public inquiries and complaints via phone or WhatsApp to ensure uninterrupted citizen services.
